Our Mission
Asia holds the largest number of orphaned children, at 71 million – India alone is home to 31 million orphans and abandoned children according to UNICEF – that’s almost 4% of the youth population. Since the Covid-19 pandemic struck in 2020, thousands more children have been orphaned, and the true figures are still unknown. Because of gender-based cultural bias and economic pressures, the majority of orphans in India are girls. The Times of India reports that nine out of 10 abandoned children are girls. In India because much of the population lives in poverty and that means the children suffer the most.
More orphans suffer a host of physical, sociological and psychological problems including lack of nutrition, education, and abuse. Only 5% have hope of completing a minimal level of education. Without assistance they will be uneducated, unskilled, and destitute adults. Most of the time when a child’s father dies and they are orphaned, they are left in orphanages because their widowed mothers cannot afford to take care of them. These widows put their trust in the orphanage to feed, clothe and educate their children and provide them with a stronger start in life.
What do orphans need the most?
Shelter, Food and clean water are the most basic need for all children.
You can help such children by sponsoring their food supplies like groceries and eatables or making donating for operation, medications, artificial limbs, physical aids, etc. By donating to orphans’ education, you can offer them a way out of the neglect, abuse, and exploitation they face when left alone on the streets.
By Grace of the lord we have built the Girls and Boys Karla homes, Thanks for your prayers and support. Please continue to support this mission.
